@ltjohnnyrico: I barely have time to play games myself, but you don't see me paying for faster access to content in a disc I've paid for. In fact, I find paying to rank up as a goddamn insult to the developer of the game who want to make the experience fun, rewarding, and full of achievement.
@ChiefReaver: How about not charging for anything at all. And just rely on the sales of the game itself ($60 is more than enough to cover everything). Or are they too cowardly to think that a Star Wars game won't sell well enough to make free DLC despite EA being a millionaire company and this game is getting massive buzz?
How in Sam hilly f**k does one thinks that solving hackers and cheaters is by taking down program that had nothing to do with it? It's like Jim Sterling said: There is a zombie apocalypse, and Take-Two's solution is to shoot those that are not bitten and are just minding their own business. OpenIV modding is for single player modding ONLY. Anyone who uses it on MP will be banned. Almost every PC GTAV player knows that and respects it. Hell, you won't even see most of them going MP due to it being riddle with microtransactions and a shitty progression system. This is so TT (who recently said they haven't made enough on Microtransactions) can pressure PC players to go online and pay for the DLC. Which is goddamn stupid of them.
@Xirtahm: Oh, no! I understand how the films already derived from the games and how they mistreated references. I'm already pissed off about that from Apocalypse to Retribution, But the way Retribution was set up at the end. You would AT LEAST expect them to end the series with a bang. Add the existing game characters and bring in new monsters like The Regenerators. It could still suck but at least be entertainingly dumb fun. But no...they didn't. My point here is that this movie will piss the fans MORE than any of the previous films. If you saw the spoilers for this movie. You'll see that.
1. Jill, Ada, Leon, and Chris were dead off screen, with Claire being the only good game character in the film who doesn't do much in this film.
2. Most of the game characters were replace with FAR LESS interesting people. Some aren't even named before their death.
3. Wesker (who killed Jill, Ada, Leon off screen) was barely in the film, and defeated being cut in half by a door barely putting up a fight.
Given this franchise has had 14 years in the making, this is the best they can do?
Early reviews and spoilers has been out. And judging from the clip. The reviews are right. The movie is still crap, and I believe it will piss off game fans more than the previous films.
@Xirtahm: The only good type of Pre-Orders are those that give a game away for free, or a discount on the game or strategy guide. Not sale on gaming content that would separate those choose for the game after reviews and those that don't have enough money yet to buy the game, and can't access that content anymore unless they paid for it along with the game.
@sellingthings: Battlefront 2 has a single player, and a game called STAR WARS should have a story. Are you saying that a current gen game should have less modes than a 10 year old game just because YOU didn't want it?
