@grin89 @1wikkid1 That's so unlikely that I won't hesitate to call it impossible. There is no way that the dev's make a full PC oriented game and then some other group of people goes through all the code/artwork and other systems to make the game operate on consoles. Plus I'm sure that not a single dev out there would open their code up to some group of people to mess with it. Plus that's not how programming is done... the environment is decided upon before programming really starts not the other way around. Plus we (gamers) have seen plenty of examples showing that your comment is backwards... And I could list more reasons why that's not the way it's done but I already wrote enough to make a clear point imo.

Couple of questions... why in the world are they releasing this supposedly next-gen title on yesturday's consoles(360, ps3, wiiu ffs!)? We've all seen what happens when games are squished in order to accomodate that sh!tty hardware time and time again... and yet the devs keep falling into the same trap time and time again, do these people ever learn?

And I'll probably catch a helluva lot of flack for this one, but why is anybody even concerned with BF now that Planetside 2 is available to all? Seriously, PS2 makes BF cry... on it's best day BF wishes it was half as good as PS2.

@oflow Exactly! WoW is almost 10 years old, at this point the interest is fading. I'm not saying it's not popular, millions still regularly play, but it's no longer interesting to anybody outside that box. A couple of years ago when WoW was all over the news and entertainment spaces was the perfect time for this... basically, when they announced it. Instead they announce it, and then nothing happens... how blizzlike of them.

*Sigh* I was really REALLY looking forward to this game... but it's just another "so called stealth" game, and a poor one at that. Sometimes it feels like these people (who make this crap) are dumber then an amoeba, don't they ever learn from the fails that we've all witnessed? Are they playing some different versions of the same games or something?

@SrebX @1wikkid1 Thanks for a coherent reply, usually I don't bother checking replies because of all the trolls.

I'm not saying that BL2 doesn't have plenty of potential. I do realize that it's a great game. I just think that the limitations should be put a bit more up-front, so that the people who see this vid and decide to try the game are not ultimately disappointed with it like I was.

There are a great many games that offer a large variety of play styles. It's why I mentioned Far Cry 3 and STALKER, both of those games (four games actually, there's 3 STALKER games) can be played run and gun. But at the same time they are set in environments that do allow long range playing. I'm not even talking about stealth, that's just a buzzword to gather more attention as far as I'm concerned. (very very few games offer anything even resembling stealth) But I'd like to be able to pick a few spots and clean the whole base out without being forced into CQB, the keyword there is forced.

BL2 just doesn't allow pure long-range play, that's not what the game was made for, even though it does offer a huge variety of scoped weapons they're not really meant to keep enemies at range.

It basically comes down to what you like, I'd prefer to spend an hour clearing out a single outpost but then clean it out without taking a single hit. Instead in BL2 it's about running in and quickly slaying anything and everything in sight, basically it's not a strategic game, it's more about short-term tactical decisions and constant firing and movement. Basically, anybody looking for long range playing should first look at other titles, ones that do accomodate that play style.

Essentially that's what my posts are meant to be, advice to those who are looking for the same style of playing as what I'm looking for.

What a shame :( I was really looking forward to this game in the hopes that it fixed issues that were present in the Neverwinter Nights games. But I guess the only thing that this game carried away from NWN is the Neverwinter portion of the title.

Both NWN and NWN2 were amazing games, but their weak points were mostly about repetitive and boring combat. The character customization options were extremely robust with endless variations of the same class possible. The story was generally interesting enough to justify playing the game regardless of the combat. But with Neverwinter it's like they decided to put a lot more effort into the weak area (combat) at the cost of pretty much everything that made NWN great in the first place.

Plus, to me, anything that has anything to do with Perfect World is something to stay away from. Perfect World is worse then EA in my opinion, they're not interested in the games they put out at all, it's all about making money. All of their games are essentially copy of one another with minor cosmetic changes. They don't feature any innovative mechanics or technologies, not that innovation is a requirement for a great game, but it can at least justify the existence of some of these games, were any innovation present that is.

I guess the important bit here is to remember that this is NOT a new NWN game. This is a whole separate franchise that happens to have a similar title. NWN games were as D&D as it's possible to get in a PC game. Neverwinter on the other hand is just another worthless F2P "MMO" (it doesn't seem to have much in the way of Massive about it, but it's def not SP.)

@Pilgrim117 I can actually recall a number of decent games that had a Deep Silver logo on them, not sure if they develop or just publish but here are a few I can think right off the top of my head: Metro, both 2033 and Last Light, Risen and Risen 2, STALKER Clear Sky, and I'm pretty sure I saw something Deep Silver dealing with Saints Row IV.

This game looks like the game that came free when I bought my CDRom drive & Sound card. I can't remember what that game was called, it was sometime around '97 or so, games on CD were just starting to show up. I don't think that one would've scored as low, back then we were much less demanding, I mean the players in general.

@SrebX Personally I found the game to be a bit too linear and restricting. It seems to offer a wide variety of play styles, but it actually doesn't. It's tuned very much in favor of run and gun, and if you're into anything other then run and gun this game will be almost hellishly difficult. It makes me think of the Civilization games where it's possible to play a peaceful game without ever going to war, but it's so much harder that way. The game is just not tuned for that.

For example I am a fan of playing shooters through the scope and staying at long range (games like Far Cry 3 and STALKER really allow that type of style, and the first Crysis game did as well.) Not really possible in Borderlands 2, enemies don't appear when you're far away, and as soon as the first shot is fired you only have 5-10seconds before the first chargers are chewing on your face, and a lot of the environment outside of the "settlements" is barren, mostly featureless, meaning sitting out there with a sniper leaves you completely open to enemy attack from all directions.

I guess it's as much my fault as the game's. Games are generally tuned to some specific play style, for BL2 that play style is run and gun. If run and gun isn't your thing then BL2 may not be the best option for you, exactly how it's not the right option for me. But I think it's something that needs to be made clear to the gamers, this video shows a lot of scoped shots, but being all broken up into several-second-long clips doesn't really showcase much of the actual game play, just random bits. Basically this whole post could be summarized as "to each his own."

@Wensea10 Beat Hazard is a great game, especially the Ultra variety with added power-ups, more enemy types and more perks. One thing I've noticed though is that how much you will enjoy the game very largely depends on your track selection. Playing Beat Hazard to something fast and furious, like some psytrance or industrial is really great. But trying to play with slower beats and tracks with lots of down time or breaks makes the flow of the game really weird and unpredictable.
