@maxwell97 I totally understand the first part of your argument. However, the point I believe everyone else is trying to make is he completely disregarded anyone aside from U.S soldiers. No one said don't be patriotic (i.e. love you country) but you have to have equal regard for everyone. That whole "our side vs yours" is what sparks problems in the first place. You said "anyone who cares more about ten people on the other side of the world than he does about his neighbor needs to adjust his priorities". No one said care "more" but Its time we realized borders are superficial and everyone is our neighbor as corny as it sounds. As for the U.S being blamed for the whole Iraq thing, its quite a bad example. Iraq was a prosperous country with no threats of "terrorism" towards the U.S or any other country prior to the Ba'ath regime. Saddam and the Ba'ath regime were assisted by the U.S government (even trained by the C.I.A) to overthrow the Iraqi government. Had the U.S government not butted their noses in the first place and helped him gain power (for their own politcial gains), none of these wars (gulf war, the current one etc.) would have occured. So of course the U.S government is going to be blamed for it, what would you expect?. The current war is just a mess that needed a long awaited clean up, and the U.S troops, their families and countless Iraqi civilians are suffering the consequence of stupid political agendas. Rant over.
