@HasH101 @ndarker While I don't usually take budget as an excuse for product quality. Since I'm a consumer I'm evaluating the product on absolute terms, I am not hiring game developers and I don't evaluate their ability on relative terms.
It is true, POE's story sucked and I never bothered to read a single line of it. But it didn't matter to me, I stormed through the three acts multiple times just to play different characters and see how they worked. I did abandon it after building 2 lv.50 char and some other, since my extremist builds aren't working well in Merciless, and I don't like balanced builds.
As for D3, no doubt it's a super polished AAA title with a decent story and amazing attention to detail. But yea, the AH sucked, the drop rates were stupid, it dropped the ball on design decisions like these. where as POE could not deliver a better story experience because they didn't have the resources to do so.
