True, its fair to say Game Freak has to run all their ideas through Nintendo, but its also fair to say Game Freak are the only ones who actually do all their work.

Agreed, Pokemon may actually have the most competitive scene there is. There are 600+ pokemon all of which can take each other out if handled smartly. A good example for former pokemon fans is that a magikarp could literally sweep a team of mewtwos if you set it up right with smeargle.
That's a lot more than most the 10-15 classes most MMO RPG's have to offer.
What would the implications be of a "fat" PS4 be? Do you just mean a larger hard drive?
Also, to be honest, if they could make a slim version right from the get-go, they'd probably use it for their main version. The main reason they do slim versions later is because of hardware advancements.
@ZexionLuv I suppose, though my brothers ps2 probably has 3000+hours on it and its still going perfect. Same with my GBA, DS, snes, etc.(only the ps2 has that many hours haha, not all of them)
Honestly, the only system that's every broke for me was the 360, and we still got a good 3-4 years out of it.
Moral of the story, I don't think the systems are built that badly, ya just got to realize how delicate the parts are in them, and treat them as such.
