"A great remake of a classic game"

User Rating: 8.4 | Prince of Persia Classic X360
Prince of Persia for the PC was undoubtedly a groundbreaking game for it's time. It applied 2D platforming with great combat and puzzles as well as a good challenge, it was it's simplicity yet superb execution that gave it the classic status that it is today. The SNES version released a few years later added an extra 6 levels as well as new bosses and great music, that however was developed by a Japanese company and was not remade unfortunately as it was easily the best version. Almost 20 years now and we have a remake and this is probably an excellent example on how to remake a classic while keeping it's nostalgic feel and add enough new elements to keep it entertaining for new comers.

Gameplay - 8

It make take a while to get use to but the basic controls allow you to move left and right and wall jump although these aren't as complex as the 3D price of Persia games. The combat system is where things get tricky. In the older versions simply pressing both parry and attack will allow you to kill the enemies quickly but this time around it has more depth. Enemies can parry quickly and you can't attack as fast as you were able to. Attacking will mean you are left vulnerable and defending will mean you will be pushed back. Overall the combat system takes a while to get use to and you WILL die a lot.

Graphics- 10

Great graphics and simply the best for any Arcade game. The game is 3D with a 2D game view but the sprites and animations are fantastic and it more or less looks like a normal 360 game.

Sound - 7

Sound effects are good but it doesn't have a good musical score which the SNES version had. Some good music would have added to the experience a lot.

Value - 7

It' only an HOUR but thats' how much time you have to complete it. You can still complete it after that but you don't get a good ending. It's unlikely you complete this in your first try so just keep resetting levels until you can beat them faster. There are time attack and survival modes and a leader board for competition but in all unless you really like this game don't expect to spend a lot of time with it. It's still worth buying and gives you a good arcade experience. Tilt - 9 This in it's core is a great game. IT offers a good challenge as well as some good level design for you to keep trying and completing the levels faster. The controls will take some time to get use to especially the combat but it's worth it. For people who have played the original and liked it this is MUST buy. Compared to all Xbox ARCADE titles this one stands among the top 5 easily.
