Probably the Best 3DS Title out There!

User Rating: 9 | Pokemon X 3DS

Pokemon X/Y. Oh boy, this game is practically the best of the bunch of 3DS titles themselves! Being released in 2013 and a great leap to 3D graphics, this game has scored it all!

To start this review off, we have the graphics. For hardcore Pokemon players/fans, this is a great leap in graphical wise. The new 3D models look gorgeous on the device (even though I have a 2DS), and the animations run VERY smoothly. They only place I've seen poor graphics/animation is with Mega Charizard X, with the blue fire from its mouth. It just looks like he/she's being choked by a blue scarf. For animation, only during a certain scene in battle, where you can see both Pokemon in one screen. There, the frame rate drops hard.

Next, we've got the storyline. Like any other Pokemon game, you start as a young teen in Vaniville town with your friends Shauna, Calem/Serena, Tierno, and Trevor. You get your starter Pokemon (Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie; I personally chose Fennekin), and start your journey to beat all 8 gyms and the Elite Four. But before you know it, an organization called Team Flare starts to plan about trying to rid of all humanity cause they think that a life with just Team Flare and Pokemon should live. So, they capture Xerneas/Yvetal to power a machine that shall destroy every non-Team Flare person in existence. And so it is your job and your Pokemon to save the world and become a Pokemon master!

Gameplay's next in the list, and it's a shining gold star! Besides the main concept of running around, catching Pokemon, and battling, there are more than meets the eye! This installment to the Pokemon series introduces two new main game-play modes: Super Training and Pokemon-Amie. Super Training is where you can manually boost up a Pokemon's stat, and Pokemon-Amie, where you can pet and feed your Pokemon so that they can perform better in battle (it also helps you with getting a Sylveon, the new Eeveelution of the region). These two game modes make this game MUCH more enjoyable. Smaller additions to the game are being able to customize your avatar with skin tone to full out outfits, and having someone take pictures of you in front of landmarks in some towns.

Like every Pokemon title, you have a lot to do after you complete the main story. You can catch every single Pokemon to have a complete Pokedex, find all the hidden items throughout the Kalos region, get all the Mega Stones, level up all your Pokemon- (inhales) Max out all your Pokemon with Super Training, max out all the affection in Pokemon Amie, and much MUCH more!

The last of this review if the music/audio. All I can really say about this part is that they nailed it! Every route, town, and battle encounter has a unique song that will get stuck in your head sooner or later!

And that's it! Before I sign off, let's do a quick run down on this review.

PROS

- Beautiful graphics

- Outstanding gameplay assets

- Unlimited replay value

CONS

- Wimpy story line (at least in my opinion)

- One of the easier installments

Hope this helped to those people out there wondering if they should buy this game! And I hope you have a GREAT day!
