While it is the first Pokemon game for the Gamecube, I feel it was a bit of a let-down. I'm not sure what they were aiming for with this game, for it to be another Pokemon Stadium, or for it to be a full fledged RPG. It seems to be neither. One outstanding problem with this game is the fact that you can't catch any pokemon you want. Apparently in this region all wild pokemon are extinct or caught. The only way to get new pokemon is to "snag" them from other evil trainers. Even after you take them you have to "purify their heart" by battling with them. It takes up a good deal of time to get them to normal. In total there are about 45 pokemon to catch in this game, much less than even the original game. The story is all about taking down a criminal organization of witch you are an ex-member. However once you do defeat the bad guys there is not much to do. All in all a very short, cliched plot.
