Painkiller Resurrection: An example of bad developing.
As I received many complains about my rig etc , not being able to run Painkiller Resurrection on highest res etc. here I post my Rig;
-Intel Quad 2 Core Q6600 G0 overclocked to 3.6ghz
-*****8GB or DD3 RAM Corsair at 1333Mhz******
-Windows Vista 64x SP2 with latest upgrades
-Nvidia 9800GX2 1GB (Dual GPU)
-Mobo XFX 790i Ultra SLI
-Samsung 226bw 2ms response
-Samsung TV 52" Full HD (connected via HDMI)
I can run Painkiller Resurrection very good, no FPS drops, no crash etc.
My rig was tested with Prime95 for more than 9 hours of stress test, so I can say my rig is stable.
So please stop sending me emails/PMs about my rig etc. as you see I have 8GB of RAM and still the game takes ages to load a level.
Painkiller and Painkiller: Battle out of Hell were great games , I enjoyed them a lot. Even last year I installed my old Painkiller(2004)and I played till the end of the game and I unlocked all the tarots cards etc :) , so much fun I had. So I was waiting for this new Standalone expansion to come out and I was hoping to have a great time as I had with the original titles, but it was a total letdown..........
I played only the first 2 levels (then my patience ended), and is really awful , Painkiller resurrection doesn't feel right at all.
First point : The graphics , are awful , we all know they are still using the old engine from 2004, but this must be a joke, I don't see any improvement , and is even not close to the original Painkiller. In the very beginning , you start in a cathedral where there are some pillars in the middle that looks like the painting guy didn't finish his paint , aaah no , wait a second, that is not paint on the pillars , it was light coming from outside ! Yes , very bad lighting effects , horrible! There is even a part where the wall is all white with a strong light effect (wrong made btw) that if you walk on it , it will kill your eyes !
What happened here ? The original Painkiller had an average graphic engine but it was beautiful , it was done very well. But Painkiller Resurrection is a joke, a really bad one.
What a shame , the first level have a poor/horrible music , it sounds like pop/dance from the 80s ?? WTH ! It doesn't even fit with the level or the game itself, I was forced to turn off the music and leave on only the sound effects.
The first level of this game is a total BIG HUGE FAILURE , how the hell they can start a game in a level like that , I just don't get it, I am sure that most people when they see this they will quit the game and uninstall it asap. Even the level design is crap , there are some dark tunnels/caves and you don't see anything and makes really a challenge to get out of there, and some parts of the level that you need to *guess* and *try* to find the way to the next area of the level, is not done as a challenge, it's annoying because is a result of a bad poor design.

Alright....
I gave it another chance and challenge myself to finish the first level, so I went to the second one , and I must say , yeah , the second one is great , the rain effect , the map , lights effects etc just feel right, but then again , the battle starts and a poor metal music starts (a very slow music like doom metal style that it doesn't fell right for a battle) that doesn't just fit , it doesn't fit. Did I say it doesn't fit ?
But it was better than the first level tho. I killed the first hellish army , and before entering the catacombs or what ever it was , if you stand just in front of the door (there are some wooden crates), there is a bug that moves your character alone in circles for a couple of seconds , and then my patience was over and I decided it was time to quit the game and uninstall it and try to forget it exist.
A good advice I can give to you: Don't buy this game.
