(As of this writing, 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors is #6 on Metacritic.com's list of the greatest DS games of ALL TIME)

999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Its the best visual novel I've encountered, the best point and click adventure, the best Anime-styled story on the DS, and probably the best game of 2010.

I was hooked within minutes of starting the game. The story is fast paced, realistic, with excellent writing and plenty of mature content(awesome, considering the fact that this is Nintendo and a Nintendo Hand-held system, no less) that is expertly fused into the entire experience. The music and sound effects are precise and beautifully draw you into the atmosphere. The characters are life-like and full of blood, and the game does an excellent job at making you care for them, fear for them, and ultimately relate to them.

I try to write good reviews. But I'm having a hard time with this one. The reason: I'd rather be playing 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors.

Do not hesitate; if you own a Nintendo DS (and if you don't, buy one just to play 999) and if you're mature enough (I'd say 18 or older) then I urge you to immerse yourself in the world of 999. You won't regret it, I promise and I will firmly hold my own against anyone who tells you otherwise.
