NHL 10

NHL 10 fixes the problems I had with NHL 09 and brings new stuff to the table.

I myself play amateur hockey on the weekends and love NHL video games but moved from EA after 06 for 2k until nhl 09 and came back. NHL 10 just ices the cake in my EA trust.


Graphics (9/10)

Running this in 1080p on my Sony TV is pretty nice but I find EA was lazy with some player hair textures just leaving them bald if they couldnt find a texture, not very nice.

Gameplay (32/40)

I love hockey, and I am pleased to play this game. Smooth controls, easy to pick and play, all the gameplay modes and my favourite new features, intimidation and first-person fighting.

Sound/Music (7/10)

Reasonable soundtrack this year with Green Day, The Scorpions and then other bands I don't recognize. Soudns are realistic and hockey-related.

Online Abilities (10/15)

Suffering with lag, modes I dislike and glitchers makes NHL's online pointless to me but good enough for anyone else. Only use it for online roster updates.

Replay Value (23/25)

With multiple modes a hockey freak will love like Battle for the Cup and Playoff Mode to the revamped Dynasty mode now called Be a GM, I am impressed.

Overall (81/100) rounded down to 80/100 or 8.0

I love hockey and enjoy this installment. If you are a hockey freak, you will too.

  Don't get me wrong it's a good game but if you have NHL 09 don't waste the 70$(CAD)
