Great game, good gameplay and nice community to be a part of!
The gameplay itself is very good, lot of oppertunities and the general balancing of the game is well worked out, and balancing usually is on the top of the list when corretions are needed.
This game takes place in a world that to me looks VERY much as the world in the Judge Dredd movie, also why i like this game so much as it isnt overdone in any way, ofcourse it's sci-fi which means that there're things there that isnt real, but real enough to relate to.
By talking to other gamers from other RPG communities, ive come to the conclusion that NC is way better in a lot of regards, like physical collision factor as in some well known MMORPGs chrs doesnt physically collide with each other and in another well known MMORPG your chr cant actually jump...
In NC u can do it all, if u wanna be a swordsman u can go for that, u can have hightech weps like laser cannons, rifles, pistols and so on as well as lowtech weps, like Gatlin cannons, UZI's and so forth.
If u r into "spelling" your way thru life, you go for Psychic power which enables u to use spells.
Better to use your brains than your physical strength? go in as a spy, higly intelligent chr which can be lvled for researching, constructing, barter skill, implanting and so on.
Possibillities are almost endless and u can forge your chr into whatever u like the, and lead the kinda life u find exciting.
Also u can play solo and/or in teams/clans, the game is packed with all kinds of soloruns so u dont have to rely on everybody else, and also u can team other players when hunting for better/faster experience and money.
The game comes as a download and the client is free of cost, when u register u start out with a 10-day trial and after them 10 days, you'll be billed for whatever period u selected, so no billing before trial has run out, in other words, its perfectly safe to register just to try the game for 10 days.
Regarding the community i think it works really well, the ingame chat system works well and rarely do we see abusers in the different channels, the community is basically acting mature and the help channel is always useable when u r "stuck" and need that little magic tip or info that'll put u back on track.
Compared to other RPGs NC2 is a lot better in many ways, especially regarding the physics and the community.
What i like the best is that NC2 is a MMOFPSRPG and the chrs look like real ppl, unlike some other well known MMORPGs ive seen where the chrs looks like a design that came out with "Disney" stamped under the foot. ;-)
