Need for Speed: Underground

Even I was impressed and I'm not a big fan of racing games.

The XBOX version of EA Games Need For Speed Underground reminds me alot of The Fast and The Furious movie. This game is alot of fun and contains some popular cars such as the MX-5, Toyota Supra, Ford Focus, Dodge Neon and more. The cars are rated on their Handling, Acceleration and the top speed. I will write a small comment about the Gameplay, Graphics, Sound and the Value of the game so that you can find out whether of not this game will be worth the money (even though the price has significantly dropped).

Gameplay - The Gameplay of Need For Speed Underground is pretty impressive. Apart from doing the usual race types such as Curcuit and Sprint you can actually do a few more cool race types such as Lap Knockout in which after each lap the car in last position is eliminated. You can also do drift and drag which are very fun. The story mode is fun but I think more variety is needed in the courses and the something could be added to the already good story mode. I mean 111 objectives is still pretty darn good. While you are racing the traffic can become an issue for you and kinda reminds of Burnout 3 in a way because of the adreniline of trying to dodge past the traffic.
I won't even get into the designing of the car because you can pretty much customize your ride in whatever way you want and trust me is is fantastic.

Graphics - The Graphics for the XBOX version of Need For Speed Underground are effectively great. The designs of the cars look fantastic as well as the courses. The cut scenes are also magnificent with the people looking as life like as ever before. The only slight dissapointment about the graphics is probably the Framerate but you shouldn't really care about that at all.

Sound - The Sound for EA Games are always pretty impressive and it is no different with Need For Speed Underground. Lots of high profile singers have made their way onto the EA Trax and they definately have the "Underground, Street Racing" feel to them which is very effective.
The Sound effects are also very impressive and won't dissapoint you. Some crisp Metal on Metal action is on par.

Value - The Value of Need For Speed Underground is pretty high but as I stated earlier in the review the Story Mode could be a little better which would definately add to the games value. But the Story Mode will take you at least over 10 hours to complete and the customization features will keep you busy for a very, very long time.

Conclusion - My conclusion to the review of the XBOX version of EA Games Need For Speed Underground is that it is a very fun racing game that I could recommend to just about anyone. Racing games aren't a favourite of mine but I love this game and I highly recommend that you give it a go.
