Mortal Kombat Trilogy for N64 is a faithless reproduction rushed out with no concern for quality gameplay.

User Rating: 1.7 | Mortal Kombat Trilogy N64
First I'll start with the concrete problems visible to all. The following characters are missing from the Nintendo 64 version of the game compared to the PSX/PC/Saturn versions:

• MK3 Sub Zero
• MK2 Kung Lao
• MK2 Jax
• MK1 Rayden
• MK1 Kano
• Kintaro
• Goro

Next problem are the graphics and audio:

• The character graphics are lower quality than in other systems with more bold, cartoony colors.
• A lot of frames of animation have been cut from the game
• The audio is subpar compared to other versions of the game.

Then there's the gameplay. Many rules put in place to make the gameplay good in UMK3 for the arcade and MKT for other systems have been removed or sloppily implemented resulting in a very broken game. It is a giant sloppy mess at best.

In the end, the only redeeming quality of the N64 version of MKT versus the PSX and Saturn versions is that the loading time is decreased. However, for that slight improvement, you have to suffer through inferior graphics, audio, gameplay, and a smaller roster.

Not Worth It.
