A great pinball game but only 2 tables means it's a slight let down

User Rating: 8 | Metroid Prime Pinball (w/Rumble Pak) DS
Like Sonic, Samus Aran can curl into a ball, so it was only a matter of time before a Metroid Pinball was released. The physics seem fairly realistic but sometimes it seemed to have a slight floaty Pokémon Pinball feel to it. There are only 2 main tables which is disappointing given that the card space on the DS should have allowed many more tables. The tables have all the usual characteristics with slingshot, kickbacks, bumpers, but then you have unrealistic parts like enemies from the Metroid Prime games appearing. These can be destroyed by ramming Samus into them, dropping bombs, or in some modes; she may come out of her morph ball to gun them down. In this mode she will shoot continuously whilst you turn her on the spot. You can choose to play a single table or choose Multi-Mode in which you go through the levels completing the events to win artifacts. The 2 main tables are good but the other tables are basically just boss arenas. Fans of Metroid Prime will recognise the locales and enjoy taking down the familiar bosses. The graphics are impressive but there is a strange frame rate drop when text appears in the centre of the screen. Overall Metroid Prime Pinball is great and a must own for Pinball fans.
