Metal Slug advance, though a lot like its predecessors, is an amazing game for the GBA.

I went out to the mall one night looking for a new game boy game, and I cam across Metal Slug Advance. I had looked at reviews on gamespot then night before and it had gotten some good ones, and the Metal Slug series has a good reputation, so I picked it up. It turned out to be a pretty good game.
The graphics in this game are pretty good as far as a GBA game goes. Explosions look great and the world is colored well. Animations are pretty fluid as well. My one gripe is the way dead people flash and disappear, I would rather them just fade away. Everything flows very smoothly.
There isn’t much audio in the game except the guns and explsions, along with an occasional “Thank You” from soldiers that have been rescued. While the audio that is there is very good quality there isn’t much of it and it can get repetitive.
Gameplay is where Metal Slug really excels. It is very fast paced and non-stop. There is always something to shoot at. It is a very challenging game and has me stuck on levels for a while, but it is so fun it doesn’t matter. While there isn’t much variety to the gameplay it keeps me on my seat. The engine for the game isn’t the greatest, especially for menus but the game is very fun to play.
Metal Slug Advance is great game to have for the GBA and won’t let you down. Defiantly a good choice for any GBA owner.
