*Spoiler Free* Metal Gear is finally in the palm of your hand and ready to roll. Konami has given it's fans a Metal Gear game right at launch time... and it's a great start in what I hope is a new direction for portable Metal Gear. Notice how I never said Metal Gear Solid. This is not an action game. This will not give you the same feeling you had playing Snake Eater, Twin Snakes and Sons of Liberty. If you enjoy those actions games (which everyone did), continue to play them on their platforms. This is Metal Gear Acid. A new trick for an old dog... and this trick turns out to be a treat. Story: Year is 2016. A jumbo jet has been hijacked by terrorists and the U.S. Government is forced to call on one of their retired agents, the legendary Solid Snake. What do the terrorists want? Why does the Government need Snake? Play the game to find out.... :) Gameplay: If you've never played a turn based card game (like me) you'll easily grow into this game. At first it seems daunting, but once you get the hang of it, you won't be able to put it down. Magic: The Gathering is a good idea of what it's like. You get a set of cards that you can either choose to move around with, or use. For instance, you have a FAMAS card. You can either use the card to kill a guard, or use it to move a couple of tiles ahead to your destination. What do you choose and will it affect you later on? These are the type of decisions you'll have to make. There are over 200 cards to choose from. Sound: All the great sounds from the metal gear solid series are here, from the codec to the gun shots. However, there are NO voice overs. I'm sure this was cut to make room for a larger game. At first it seems odd, but you will get use to it and won't even think about it again. Graphics: The graphics remind me a lot of a Twin Snakes, just not as smooth or detailed. They certainly look 10x better than any ps1 game and almost on par with MGS2. Stunning for a portable game, you'll forget you're playing it on a portable sometimes. If you like Metal Gear, you owe it to yourself to at least give this game a shot. It's certainly not for everyone, but you'll never know until you try. Is it a system seller? No. Excellent Game? Yes, definitely. I hope you have a better idea of what it's like and I tried to keep this short and spoiler free, enjoy!
