Stealth strategy fans, rejoice; action fans, cry.

User Rating: 8.6 | Metal Gear Acid PSP
Gameplay: Acid is Metal Gear Solid. It isn't some obscured card game with the name being the only thing related to the other MGS games. All the excitement and action of the past MGS games is still jam-packed onto the UMD. The only difference in gameplay is the core connection between Snake and the players. This game definitely has a focus crowd, and if you are within that crowd, you will enjoy it, if not, you will most likely get bored. Think of the last three MGS games. Did you enjoy mowing down enemies or did you enjoy planning out your actions? If you like turn based strategy or turn based RPG games, you will likely enjoy this game. It's all about planning, taking your time to learn your enemy, and striking only when you have everything set up. Needless to say, this game isn't a game for people who have ADHD. However, I'm not saying that this is a slow paced game without any action. If you think ACID is like playing chess, you're only half right. After your plans are set up, the action will take place through very well animated cutscenes. It's quite exciting to watch the action take place. The action advances quickly and the story unravels just as fast. Sound: The thing I really miss the most is the voice actors. Everything is text. I don't mind reading and the story is just as good as the other MGS games but the voices would have given the characters more character and personality. Graphics: It looks just like the PS2 MGS games. The art cutscenes look very nice and does a good job in conveying the story but I wish they would animate the cutscenes instead of using static pictures. Story: Story is probably the best part about MGA. Most of the story is told through codec transmissions and short art cutscenes. Snake and the other characters have a lot of character and dept. The plot is deep. It is easy to get into the story. With most of the PSP launch titles being void of good story driven games, this game should satisfy anyone looking for a good story. Everything you would expect from a MGS game. Overall: MGA has its crowd. Depending on who you are, this game could be rated 10 or rated 1. Just make sure you know who you are and you know what this game has to offer before picking it up.
