This game is one of my favorite Mega man games. Unfortunately for myself, this was the first "real" difficult Mega man game I played. And as I played the other games, I realized this is one of the most difficult ones. The learning curve is sharp, and the game can be frustrating at first. However, once you get a little further into the game it will grow on you. This game is still extremely difficult even after the learning curve has been conquered, but once that has happened, you will start feeling less frustrated and more like that the the game is a solid challenge. In my opinion, the boss battles are the highlight of the game, with their unique settings and different attacks. Each boss fights differently, and it generally takes a good number of attempts to beat them. Generally, the first two or three times you fight them, you'll be beaten before you take half of their life away. But, gradually, you'll learn their attacks, the movements before each specific attack, how to dodge them, and when the best time to attack the boss is. The up-close-and-personal aspect of this game is what I enjoyed the most. Learning the timing of the saber, when to attack and when to dodge, and when to avoid enemies all together is what makes playing with the Z-saber enjoyable. If you're in the mood for a challenge, pick Mega man Zero 2 up. Believe me, you'll enjoy it.
