This game isn't dissapointing at all! It's everything you want in megaman, and much better than the X7 and X8 games. This is the old school, classic gaming you've come to love in the megaman series, and i've come to see why it's so enjoyable. The graphics are probably a big deal to some people, well, 3D models and sprites have come so far! They're actually completely different, which is why this game is actually easy on the eyes. It's no problem to adjust yourself to the graphics, but megaman 8 and 7 might want to be your first plays if you wanna tone down on graphics step by step. Gameplay is really where this game comes together, this game is alot of fun, pure platformer goodness! A healthy dose of this classic gaming is really good to show where some of the roots of gaming today come from. What may be a suprise to you is the gameplay in some of these games are BETTER than some of the platformers made today! First of all, the camera view. In megaman 1-6, you have a nice big level area, and a small megaman, which is really where the game comes its best, because in the megaman series, bigger is BADDER, If it's bigger, you won't feel some of the freedoms that megaman 1-6 have! (Like the running speed, which slows down a bit when bigger, jumping which is lower when bigger, and enemy size, which is wierder when bigger) This is why megaman 7 and 8 are probably lesser and not as fun as the NES versions. They have larger sprites, and not as much freedoms than in the NES versions as well. It's very hard to describe the difference in the two games which were made by the SAME company and had the SAME style of gaming, but you'll feel it. The arcade ones are also nice! It's different, and a great stress releiver, because battling bosses is the most fun part of the megaman games in my opinion! Likewise, some of these games are pretty difficult when you play them the first time, when you beat all the megaman games, you'll be a master! You can go and beat all 8 robot masters in a row in about 30 or 40 minutes, maybe less! If you're having a tough time, go to options and go to gameplay options. Switch your lives to 5 and turn the game on easy mode, you're not missing any enemies, bosses or areas, you just take less damage and the enemies are easier to beat. There is one problem with this game though, the extras menu and the controller. Now the controls for the megaman games were switched, so if you played the NES ones with a NES controller on a NES system. ( Ness, is a character on super smash bros and Earthbound, and NES stands for Nintendo Entertainment NE...System!) The blaster is now on the A button and jump is on the B button. Not only that, but the extras aren't really something to look foward to, sure the arcade games feature co-op and are cool, but too easy an short, and most of it are art galleries and music anyway. The most promising unlockable is the interview, which is actually nice to watch! Especially if you're a megaman fan! Control, well it's just too simple, hold down a button and tap a button to shoot, use the control stick or pad to move, press one button to jump, higher you jump=length of time you hold it down. So simple, a monkey could do it! Are you a monkey? (Well, technically we come from the evolution of monkeys, so I guess we are!) Just the control configuration, that's the only problem, which takes a short time to get used to if you played the NES controller style, and even shorter if you're new to the game. The sound is crisp and pure, about everything you can do, you can hear as well, the music fits the stages very well, and there's a very large variety of music you hear in this game. You even unlock music whilst you play through the game in the secrets section, so it's also a good game with a good soundtrack! Please, pick this one up! If you're a fan of platforming, or want to try it out, pick up this game, it's only $30! (When I bought it that was the price, and I got it only 1 week after it came out) This is a fun, cool shooter platformer game that you'll enjoy for a long time to come, trust me, this game is good.
