Mega Man 7 still an entertaining and very challenging worth of the Mega Man name

User Rating: 8 | RockMan 7: Shukumei no Taiketsu! SNES
When I bought the Mega Man Collection, I hated his game. I though it really didn't play well, but now giving it a better chance, I can see that I was unfair.

GRAPHICS:
The art style in this game is very good. Character models are spot on, backgrounds are colorful and detailed and the bosses have cool designs. 5/5

SOUND:
The music in this game is really good, like most of the other games in the franchise. The tunes fit very well with the levels and they are normaly very catchy. The sound effects are very weak though. The sounds Mega Man make, like when he shoots or jumps are bad, and other ones just aren't very good. 3.5/5

GAMEPLAY AND STORY:
The game is a 2D plataformer. You play as Mega Man, who has to defeat 8 robot masters and then defeat the evil dr. Wily. It has some more plot than the previous games but still nothing special. This game introduces Bass, how would become a enemy of Mega Man is subsequent sequels. The gameplay is like the previous games: you go though a level, defeat a bos, grab his power up and go to the next boss. This concept is still solid, and to mix things up, in the begining you can only fight 4 bosses, then you can fight the other 4. Is rather cool, and limits the trial and error fashion of seeing what weapon is stronger in the other boss. This game also introduces a shop, where you can buy stuff to help you. Again, this is a neat feature. Going though the levels is mostly fun because the level design is normaly very good, and requires some skill, but rarely cheap. This game is really hard though, specially the bosses, that even with their weapons are hard. I once complained that MM moved too slow, but this seems like only because he is bigger, but he moves the same speed as previous games, which is pretty slow. One thing I still stand by is that he charges the buster too slow, which can be frustrating when taking strong enemies. One thing I love about this game though are the weapons and the bosses. They are all very cool (with the exception of Spring Man) and their weapons are also very powerful. 4/5
