While not a conventional RTS, Medieval II still delivers an addicting experience. You will want to play over and over again. You play as one of the important faction of the 11th Century, up to the 16th. Medieval II mixes the conventional RTS, with its building and cities management on the world map, and the more traditional troop vs troop action. In addition to an historic setting that will teach you some basics of the European past, you get to know the location of a bunch of important places like Toulouse, Dijon, Zagreb, Palermo, etc... So, while playing, you add to your general culture, which I found was a great point to the game. Medieval II is easy to handle, pretty basic control that nonetheless deliver a great game experience. The AI could have been better, the campaign can feel a little too easy if you don't set the highest difficulty. The vast unit catalogue is quite impressive too. You have to play this game, hours and hours of fun guaranteed
