Though it does not contain the best graphics or gameplay, Rising Sun delivers well.

Medal of Honor is a WW2 shooter series that always manages to be different than other shooters, such as Call of Duty and Brothers in Arms. This time, the Medal of Honor universe takes a spin to the Indiana Jones side of World War 2.

In Rising Sun, you're a marine who in the beginning, is in the middle of the Pearl Harbor attack. After the first and only serious level (Pearl Harbor) you go across the Orient mostly, in beautiful cities, jungles, crashed trains and ancient temples. You also get to fight in a baseball park. Rising Sun definately is not your ordinary WW2 game, but that doesn't mean it's not WW2. The sound is as good as ever, a top notch 10 once again, thanks to THX. You'll get the same sounds of intensity like in Frontline, but in jungles. Birds chirping and branches swaying, it's not hard to admire.

Sadly, some technical differences set this game in the "not as good" category. You have a pretty rough handle on your weapons which makes it impossible to kill "dancing" Japanesse soldiers sometimes. Yes, some characters look like they're dancing when running. My cousin and I named some of them while playing against the computer, Dancing Boy and Phsyco Chef. The graphics aren't all that great either. The cities are wonderfully and the character animations are pretty good, but the jungles look very boxy, day or night. I lost alot of ammo shooting trees while they looked like Japs. THe colors aren't too bright either.

Rising Sun does have a great two player. They have death match and such, but the most fun is co-op against the computer. You can play with your friends, a cool change which should've been on every Medal of Honor game.

The locations in the game are really interesting aswell. Beside the plian jungles, there are some cool temples and bases that are woth exploring. Enemies will also be on every corner. I thought the most interesting was the train wreck on the bridge. That was pure Indy. This game is definately like Indiana Jones, because of the locations you go to and the stunts you have to make. It's not a bad thing, but doesn't take the World War 2 genre seriously.

Overall, Medal of Honor Risng Sun is wothwhile game that's not quite like the others in some good ways and some bad. If you're a fan of the series, than play it. If you like WW2 games, play it. If you're just looking for a game to play, don't play it.
