An outstanding sequel to an outstanding franchise.

There's a old saying: "A sequel is usually not as good as the original." That may be true from MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf, but still an excellent game. It has some new mechs and weapons, some gameplay tweaks and the like. The newest feature is the addition of BattleArmor, sort of like a mini mech. It has pulse lasers and mortar launcher for weapons and a claw so you can latch on to walls. The best thing you can do is "neurohack" a mech with the BattleArmor. You simply jump jet to a mech and latch onto it, then a menu appears with the buttons of your Xbox controller. As they flash, you must press them before your opponent does to make him/her eject from the mech. Then you can either jump in the mech or just go on a hacking spree. Also worth noting that some mechs are now equipped with temporary shielding for ballistic and laser type weapons, so they can receive less damage. However, I wish there was more to all of that.

The game's graphics haven't really changed much from the first one, but that's not bad. The mechs, explosions and weapon effects are still awesome looking, but some of the graphics are blurry. The sound is good. The voice acting may be garbage, but sound effects of weapons and explosions are great.

This is a must buy for fans of the original MechAssault or for those that want a game with lots of action.
