All luck, no skill.

User Rating: 6 | Mario Party 8 WII
Another Mario Party, and another repeat. Mario Party 8 isn't different than any other Mario Party. It's still a board game and it's still about luck, not about skill.

When I rated the difficulty hard, I didn't mean the Star Battle. I meant the party tent. You can go from first to last place in one turn, by landing on one space. Problem is, it's impossible to get back to first place. Take for example, the battle minigames. Battle Minigames are games in which everyone wagers an amount of coins, from 5 to 50. There are only five battle minigames, and one of them is about sheer luck. You could lose fifty coins in one turn, because of that bad minigame.

Another problem is that there's nothing new. Sure, it's carnival style, but once you get beneath that, it's all the same. And the minigames need a little work. It's all repetitive, and quite boring. It's not a party you'll want to go to when you're done with it. Overall, it's just the same.
