8 is great!

I've always been a big fan of the Mario Party series, but by the time Mario Party 7 came about, I was burned out.

Mario Party 8 breaths new life into the all-but-exhausted Mario Party formula. Most of the mini games are motion sensitive (what's not to love?) and the game boards are top-notch, not that I'd expect anything less.

Everything takes place in the Star Carnival, where you can throw parties, buy stuff, and so on. The extras are okay, but the story mode is actually quite nice. When you beat the story mode, you unlock one of Bowser's minions as a playable character. Beat it twice, and you get both minions (one of which, I'm proud to say, is BLOOPER (!), who happens to be one of my favorite Mario personas.)

If you thought this series was played out, think again. Between Mario Party 8 and Mario Party DS, the series has ascended to a new level of greatness.
