Though it is improved over its predecessors, there's no real reason to play Mario Party 6 if you don't already like it.

User Rating: 5.9 | Mario Party 6 GC
This is the first Mario Party game I've played since the N64 ones (not sure which one). I must say even after all this time the game hasn't changed much. The biggest change is the orb mechanic used in the game. Though this gives the game some mild amusement for a short time, it's not enough to offset the tedium this game offers. Gameplay - 6 It's a board game. I don't like board games. And though it sounds like there are lots of mini games, you'll have played almost all of them in a few hours, if you can manage to play for that long. Though the mini games are quite varied, they're simply not very fulfilling. I feel as though I'd rather play a mini game in an RPG than in Mario Party 6 Graphics - 6 Not bad, but the animation is below average. I was pretty impressed by the creativity in the art direction but it gets old fast, especially when you've rounded the board for the 10th time. Sound - 6 Well's theres not really that much sound in the game. Both the sound effects and the background music are at least a grade or two down from other Nintendo games. Both lack the quality and catchiness that better titles have Value - 5 Going to the star bank, it may seem like there's lots to be unlocked, but there really isn't. Everything can be unlocked in around 4-6 hours depending on how you play. Not that they make much more appealing to play Reviewer's Tilt - 6 Hey, I bought this game for my little brothers and they had fun with it. Problem is that the Gamecube is our only system and I either had to play with them or do homework. I think I would have had more fun doing the latter
