As you know, I am a big Mario fan since 2005 and one of my favorite spin-off series was Mario Kart. In August 2009, my dad bought me Mario Kart Wii with a Nintendo Wii. I was excited as I had finished playing Mario Kart DS and it was time for me to embark a new Mario Kart adventure.
There were a lot of changes in this game as they added the usage of bikes, online was brought back, new items were added and many more. Mario Kart Wii is one of my favorite Mario games as it brings back the core gameplay and expands on it even further to make it a game you will constantly come back to. Mario Kart Wii's online mode is awesome as well, though I wish they did something about the people who keep rage quitting the server, but other than that, it is a great game to play. The new items are awesome too as they bring more carnage to the game too. The wide number of characters is great as they added characters like Rosalina, Funky Kong, Toadette and more too the game. Even the Miis are playable in this game as well. The weight class of the Miis depends on how tall and how much weight you put on your Mii in the Mii Channel.
On the downside, the battle modes are kinda bland compared to previous games as hey took out the option for Free-for-All and the choice of battles are lame. Also, I am not a fan of bikes being in this game and they are even returning to Mario Kart 8 so other than 100cc, I never use bikes at all. The other flaw is the difficulty spike at 150cc which pisses me off because I am an avid Mario Kart gamer and when I get constantly attacked by items (mainly the Red Shell and Spiny Shell combo) I get Mario Kart rage!!!!!
Other than that, it is a fun game for everyone and it is highly recommended that you play it.
