Another fun Mario sports title.
Mario Golf is presented in a fun and "kiddy" way. The first couple of courses look just like a regular course but as you unlock more courses they become more Mario's style. You will have to hit your shots around objects that include warp pipes, petey piranhas, lava flows, and chain chomps. Most of the coursers are based on a specific character including Peach, Bowser, and Donkey Kong. Other characters included in the game are Mario, Luigi, Koopa, Boo, Petey Piranha, Donkey Kong, and many of the other Mario mainstays.
The actual gameplay of Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour is very simple but it can take awhile to get the feel of the clubs down just right. There isn't much to say about the way you make your shots, it is basically the same as any other golf game.
This game offers a ton of added gameplay modes that include unlocking Star Characters, mini games, multiple match play options and about 10 tournaments. One of the funner parts to this game is the mini games. By completing the mini games you can unlock characters such as Boo and Petey Piranha. The mini games include Birdie Challenge (Birdie 18 holes in a row), Ring Shot (Hit your ball through various rings and get a Par for the hole), Close Approach (Chip the ball into a red circle around the hole), and a few others. When playing these mini games you will have to complete three difficulty levels. As well as these mini games there are also other fun gameplay modes which include Club Slots and Coin Attack.
