"Best in the series' franchise, but The Show is much better!"

User Rating: 7 | Major League Baseball 2K10 X360
Gameplay: The gameplay has been vastly improved over last year's predecessor! The gameplay itself is more fluid and (most of the time) is studder free. One of the new features called "pitchers vs batters duel" works very well as players will foul off tough pitches in key situations. Another new feature called "Mlb Today" will let you play the actual matchups from that day in the actual mlb season, and it's very accurate! The main mode of MLB 2K10 is "My Player" which lets you create your own player to live the life of an MLB player. However, don't get too excited because the only fun position to play is the pitcher, and this mode is plagued with millions of bugs! For example, there are scoring bugs, and plenty of batting problems that will definitelty let you down! Baserunning is also a major issue, as some players will just stand there and do absolutely nothing! I encountered this several times during this mode and season!

Presentation: The graphics are also improved over last year, but they're just good, not great! On the positive side, the pitching and batting animations are as fluid as ever. Plus, most of the players look exactly like their real-life counterparts. Famous batters like A-rod, Fielder, Pujols, and Jeter are almost perfect! Another great thing is that the stadiums themselves are very detailed! At some points, it may look like you're actually at the stadium, which is a major step forward! Also, the stadium backdrops look exactly as they do in real life and on television! Play at Target Field, you'll notice very similar details! The only major complaint I have is that when you click on the living rosters page and go on "MLB News", the game will freeze on you for no reason! This upset me very much because once you get stuck, you'll have to reboot your xbox all over again!

Sound: The soundtrack is one of the worst I've ever heard! Most of the time the soundtrack repeat itself over and over again, which gets really annoying really fast! Also, the main theme music of the game is the same as it is in NBA 2K10! However, the commentary is top notch! The trifecta of Gary Thorne, Steve Phillips, and John Kruk do a very good job in the booth! Most of the time, they will reference stats from real life and say them in game, which is a nice touch! In one game, I heard Phillips clear his throat to say his words clearly, which is unbelievable!

The Verdict: MLB 2K10 is a decent baseball game that is weighed down by numerous bugs, glitches, and annoyances that will definitely shorten your game time! However, smooth controls, beautiful graphics, and an in-depth "MLB Today" , make this one the best in the series' franchise! But, if you have a PS3, purchase MLB 10: The Show, because this game has excellent player models and no slow down!
