User Rating: 7 | Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim PC
As an RTS M2 is fun and easy to learn. That is because there are so few choices. As everyone else has noted the economy is oversimple. There is only one way to solve problems: heroes. You do have a few different kinds that have different specialties. Rangers for exploring, Clerics for healing, etc. All the missions are either kill X, defend X or find X. So while getting your green hatted Robin Hood looking ranger up to lvl 17 so he can kill a bear in one shot is fun... the first 5 times the novelty wears off quickly. Although a nice add on for M2 is the ability to save your top champions for use in future missions. But as they grow in level and power they can be quite expensive to recruit. But the whole concept of the game is recruiting heroes, growing heroes, equipping heroes and then sending them out to their doom.

The economy is not as developed as Serf City (excuse me for dating myself) which was a fantasy kingdom sim in every sense. The role playing is not even as developed as Warlords where you ruler also advances. Basically there is little way to play M2 with your own style. While the more difficult missions may have you change a bit for each challenge, I would bet that everyone who beat them played the same way.

M2 is fun, at first, and an interesting concept but the replay value is low. If you are a casual gamer and want something easy to jump into see some neat animations and listen to advice on how to solve your kingdoms problems, M2 is for you. If you are a serious strategy gamer that enjoys games like Rise of Nations or Empire Earth you will get bored real fast with this one.
