Once you look past some frustrations, you'll find a very satisfying and enjoyable puzzle game.

User Rating: 8.5 | LIT WII
LIT is about a boy named Jake and he's trapped inside his school that is taken over by darkness. He must save his girlfriend Rachel and that's about as deep as it gets. The story is light and the ending is a little disappointing.

Control wise, LIT controls pretty well with some frustrations. Sometimes you might try to use a item and if you're standing beside a lamp (using items and turning on and off stuff both use A) and happen to turn it off, you may find yourself getting sucked in the darkness which is really frustrating. If you get hit or go in the darkness during a puzzle or boss fight, you have the start the puzzle or boss fight over again. For controls, you hold Z to aim, B to change items, and A to use items. You move with the analog stick on the Nunchuk and you press in different directions on the +pad to change the camera view. You'll also occassionally run into telephones in which Rachel will call you, and if you answer all of her phone calls, you will unlock Rachel. When she talks to you, her voice comes through the Wii Remote Speaker.

Graphically, LIT looks pretty good with a nice artstyle and the darkness looks creepy. The characters look pretty detailed (for a Wiiware game) and the bosses look nice and creepy. The only negative thing with the graphics is the occasional dip in the frame rate, but it's really minor and doesn't happen often enough to be annoying.

In the sound department, LIT also sounds pretty good with eerie music and solid voice acting (there's not much voice acting). The sound effects sound good. The bosses sound creepy as well. The only negative thing is that there's only one footstep sound which may bug you.

There's a decent amount of replay value in LIT. Once you beat the game, you can play on Dark in which you play through the same puzzles and boss fights again, except that you have a time limit to do each puzzle and boss fight. You can tell you're running out of time when the screen goes darker. If you answer all of Rachel's phone calls, she will be unlocked as a playable character. You can also play through any puzzles or boss fights once you've beaten them. There's only 25 puzzle rooms and 5 boss fights which might be a little disappointing, so you can beat LIT in a couple hours or less. It's only $8 though, so this a great value.

Overall, LIT is a great game that's both original and unique, and the boss fights are really good. You will get frustrated sometimes, but you'll still enjoy LIT. For 800 points, LIT is a must-buy.
