Some good, some bad, and some ugly

User Rating: 6 | LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 (Deluxe Edition) PS4

It's a Lego game and with that comes it's usual mix of good, bad, and ugly. The good comes from decent cut scenes, wonderfully rendered characters and environments, and some decent combat. The latter isn't perfect but for a Lego game, not bad.

The bad is simply they have yet to fix companion AI and switching between characters in story mode; typical of Lego games. For the latter, you know how you need to use a specific character for a task but trying to switch to that character isn't always the smoothest (i.e. you'll get a character you don't need at the moment, despite three or more attempt to switch to the character). This is compounded when you need specific characters to stay in specific spots and those characters wander while you're trying to switch to the appropriate character. For me this has been an endemic problem with Lego games since the beginning.

The ugly is little things that seem to drag the game out, like the animation when unlocking characters. Might not seem like a lot (an added couple of seconds) but it isn't as smooth as previous games.
