The remake of the SNES Super Stars , Kirby Super Stars ULTRA bounces onto the DS and swallows competition.

User Rating: 7.5 | Kirby Super Star Ultra DS
Kirby Super Stars ULTRA is the newest Kirby game out for the DS. ULTRA is a remake of the classic SNES Super Stars and it brings everything you love about the pink puff-ball and more.

Story - 5.4 - The game revovles around tiny stories compared to recent portable adventures for are marshmallow-mascot. Spring Breeze, for instance revolves on Kirby gettin' back some stolen produce from King DeDeDe. In Revenge of MetaKninght, Kirby has stop MetaKnight and his flying fortress, The Halbred, from controlling Dreamland. The game doesn't have much to call a story, except for little 3-D rendered cutscences, that a time feel a bit sluggish.

Gameplay - 8.7 - The game will keep you busy with over 10 adventures you must complete. It involves that same control scheme as the most recent port, Squeak Squad, with a few tweaks. you can now guard against, and even deflect, attacks with either shoulder button, L or R. Plus, you can now turn your enemies into allies by swallowing them and pressing the X button. If you have a friend with a copy of the game, you can use a co-op mode in which they control the body of any partner you gain. As they say, two heads are better than one, right?

Music/sound - 6.0 - As I said, cutscences are sluggish, but the stages and backgrounds are solid, with a nice overall theme that compliments both the series and mood. Most notable are a couple of the boss themes, that will be stuck n are minds for some time now.

Overall 7.5 The game is fun, won't last too long, but it compliments the Kirby series and the DS library , very well done. Full for enjoyment, find a freind with a copy, and play through the hardest (or most memorable) stage you can think of. Buy this game to spicen up your DS library, or enjoy one of the best Kirby games [on the DS].
