Fun, while it lasted.

User Rating: 7.5 | Just Cause 2 PS3
I had some experience with the first game on PS2 which was rather disappointing, with all the extremely small graphics representing your character, AI characters vehicles etc.

So when I booted the game for the first time I was somewhat cautious expecting not a lot, but a game to have fun with.
And fun it was. You don't have any problems adapting to the pace of the game from the start, since the difficulty rating rises very gradually and you will not find any moments where you will think that the game is too easy or too hard.

Your character is capable of amazingly unbelievable stunts but you never linger on the ridiculousness of them since it is fun to perform them and as a plus you get a huge and beautifully made complex of islands and the breathtaking vistas you get to behold on various occasions.

Combat reminds me of various new Chinese action films where the good guy gets to shoot the baddies multiple time launching them in to the air and splatter them all over the place.

Guns feel OK regarding their sound and power, but there are a lot of them and I doubt you will ever get a chance to use them all, and most likely you will not and will get stuck using the same 3 or 4 repeatedly, since upgrading even this number takes forever.

Vehicles are also OK with a simple method of control whether it's riding, driving or flying. One little nuance was the over-sensitive attitude of land vehicles but eventually you get used to it.

The story follows the game-play. Ridiculous again. And it is over, if you wish it to be, hmm I don't know , in less than 10-12 hours. And I do not know because I had so much fun clearing and exploring areas, that when got myself to be bothered with the story-line again I had already logged sixty+ hours of game.
And to be frank I would not know the time I spent if the game had not an information display briefing you about everything, time, kilometers driven, kills etc.

In conclusion Just Cause 2 is not a "deep" complicated game but it is fun and well worth your time and money.
