A year after Ratchet & Clank won the 1st platformer fight round, J&D fight back!

Yeah, that's right. In 2001, Naughty Dog releases their new hero after Crash Bandicoot- Jak, and his best friend, Daxter. In 2001, Jak & Daxter was an awesome game. In fact, J&D was a GotY favorite, but got beaten by the Croatian awesome FPS shooter- Serious Sam. Naughy Dog was on the top with J&D in 2001. They released Crash Bandicoot's sewuel, their most famous superhero, that was called Crash Bandicoot and the wrath of Cortex. And in the same year J&D:The Precursor Legacy came out and ruled the world. But not everything was right. Earlier in the 90's, Naughty Dog was fighting for the PlayStation platformer King developer titule with an another famouth a famous superhero- Insomniac. Insomniac had Spyro, and ND had Crash Bandicoot. In 2002, after the J&D release in 2001, Insomniac releases Ratchet & Clank, delivering a powerful kick in the groin to Naughty Dog, also with their new two super heroes: Ratchet & Clank :D. So, the 90's fight comes in the 21st century, on the PS2 console. In 2003, Insomniac releases another fantastic game: Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, aka, R&C2, which was fantasticly rated, but ND hits back and, boy, does he hit! ND releases Jak II, a much more serious and much more heavier than the first release.

+: 1. Although J&D looked great in 2001, Jak II looked even better in 2003. The animations where perfect. Daxter's graphics was highly improved, and so was Jak's. The level designs where not too complicated, but satisfiyng. When you look atthis game, and than, let's say, at X-Men Origins for the PS2 today, you see the big difference. The game looks great and proves to be great. 2.J&D was rated in 2001 for Everyone by ESRB. Many called it a kids game, although it was pretty cool even for older gamers. In 2003, Jak gets his own voice, and becomes mad, after being ''touched'' with Dark Eco. Daxter releases him from prison, and helps him on a vendetta journey, which is filled with intrige, great story, clues, solutions and twists. So the game gets an Teen rating, which makes it more interesting. 3.As in 2001, the gameplay is perfect in Jak II. Jak is stronger because of the Dark Eco powers, and he gets REALLY GOOD GUUUNNNNS!!!! In other words, he blows stuff and is chased by the cops. If you think about it, ND uses here Insomniac's own weapon to defeat them: R&C is known b being a great platformer (and it is) where you can blow stuff. And, I'll be damned, it worked! Jak can blow stuff, shoot, and he drives awesome machines. Jak gets a map and works for other people, so you get a type of a FREE ROAM game which was in that time very rare in games, maybe only in GTA.

- (negatives):1. Daxter: Although Daxter is a great charachter, that completes Jak and helps him on the way, Jak is not rarely the annoying part of the game. Although he helps you a lot with his tips, his lines are often annoying and dull. But then again, his humor brings a light side in the game, which makes it more interesting. 2. A.I. (Artificial Intelligence): The enemies, charachters (except J&D) and other people's AI is HORRIBLE -.-'. Their stupidity and wrong moves harden your life as far as they can get. BUT, then again, if it wasn't so hard, it wouldn't be so interesting. :D

Final Line: When Jak II came out, It really amazed me. R&C2 stayed pretty the same, maybe a little different, and a great game, but the same, Jak II got great changes- in the graphics, story and gameplay. Jak II is a fantastic game that can be played by everyone. You can enjoy it all the time. Personally, this is one of my favorite games, and one of the reasons why I bought the PS2. Jak II will be played for many years on, as the same as Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and Jak 3. ND made a great job, and this game deserves without any hasetation a perfect score 10!
