Amazing Game, but one problem.

User Rating: 9.5 | Jak II: Renegade PS2
This game can be extremely fun at some points. It's just fun to shoot up cops, jack cars, and do other stuff that the law doesn't allow. There is only one LITTLE problem. And it's a big one.

Story: The story picks up right after the end of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, and the defeat of Gol and Maia. Jak, Daxter, Keira, and Samos are messing around with the Precursor Door that you find when you beat Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Jak activates the door. (He still doesn't talk, by the way.) A strange worm-lookin' thing comes out of the door, and Jak and Co. are catapulted through a time-space rift when you launch through the Precursor Door. It appears that only Jak and Daxter landed in the same place. They get up and Daxter proudly declairs, "That's the last time I touch any more Precursor CRAP!" Jak is seen by cops and is bludgeoned over the head by them. Daxter says that he'll rescue him before he knows it. (2 Years Later.) Jak is being pumped full of Dark Eco. (The strange energy from the first game.) Immediately after the antagonist, Baron Praxis leaves, Daxter is on an elevator. He flies it over to Jak and Proceeds to make fun of him. (Jak also says his first word in 17 years! "I'm gonna kill Praxis!") He offers to untie him, but Jak turns into a strange creature and attacks Daxter, but returns to normal. Daxter then vows to never piss Jak off ever again. And the story begins... 10/10

Graphics: For the time, the graphics are very well done. Everything looks AWESOME. The cars, Jak, Daxter, characters, etc. It's all really good. There are occasional frame rate drops, but that's nothing. They aren't huge. 9/10

Controls: If you've played Jak and Daxter: The Precursor legacy, you've gotten used to the controls. They are exactly the same, exept for the roll buttons being set the L1. And the R1 button is now used to shoot your guns. (That's right. GUNS.) 10/10

Difficulty: This is the problem that I mentioned before. The game is fun at times, but at some missions, it gets extremely difficult. I had been working on a single mission for an extremely long time. Almost an hour. (50 or so minutes.) That's not right. 8/10

Overall, I REALLY wanted to give this game a 10, but I can't because there are a few flaws that are really noticable. The difficulty may have been reved up a whole lot from Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, but it's fun, it's actually pretty long. It's not likely that you'll finish this in one day. The difficulty will keep you from getting much further in the game for a while. Sure, you can pick up Precursor Orbs to get secrets, like big head, small head, INVINCIBILITY! To bad, Precursor Orbs aren't as plentiful anymore. 9.5/10 It's a great game, but I still like Precursor Legacy a little bit more. It's still a good buy. I'd actually say rent it first. It's got a way darker tone than Precursor Legacy. That probably turned off a few gamers. It's only $7 at Gamestop!
