It's so good three years after I beat it I still can't stop playing it and having fun! My new favorite after crash died!
Gameplay: 10/10
The mixes of different gaming styles in one game really give gameplay a ten. The mix of Haven City's grand theft auto feeling gives more destructive people endless fun with blowing up cars and beating up the people or cops. Outside Haven city has more of a platformer style to it which will keep the fans of the original Jak and Daxter happy. The race style in the city of at the races gives those with a need for speed plenty to do before and after the game ends. It even has a somewhat Ratchet and Clank feel with the way the weapons work. Then last but not least there are a few minigames to tie it all together.
Controls: 10/10
The controls are very simple and easy to master after about an hour of playing the game. Even the combo moves such as uppercutting and wastelander moves are simple with only a few different buttons to press to make them.
Story: 9.5/10
The story is great! It's full everything you need for a platformer. No jumps in the storyline where you will have no idea what is going on or just plain useless dragging on single part of the story out when it's not interesting. The only things that really brings it down is the time traveling really confused me and the lack of nostalgia.
Characters: 10/10
This game has all the characters it needs. A sidekick that makes you laugh your head of, a greedy guy who stabs you in the back, an evil emperor, a person who is related to the bad guy but is good, a super paranoid geek, an egotistic fool, a grumpy and serious jerk, and an old man who is really and evil monster bent to take over the world. With that you get a funny yet serious storyline.
Graphics: 10/10
These are probably the best graphics I have seen this generation! I had thought Jak and Daxter had great graphics but these just blow those away they are so good. The polygons are all so smooth and move so smoothly.
Difficulty: 9/10
This game was not much as hard but more of challenging your strategy. After you learn how to do puzzles it gets fun. I do have to admit that there were some times where I got mad at where the respawn points were like when i was halfway through a stage and I die and go back to the start but other than that I would not make it any easier.
Length: 9.5/10
A great length that keeps you on your toes for days playing this but to me it was a bit to short. I played the storyline for a good 80 hours but it still left me wanting more. If I got all the precursor orbs then it would last 110 hours. Even after the story I had fun destroying stuff.
Extra features: 9.5/10
All the extra unlockables were awesome but the one thing that brings them down is the fact that the unlimited dark Jak dose not let you stay as dark Jak forever just your eco is always full.
Overall 9.74/10
Its a great game but it just didn't quite make the ten mark. I cant say much more on how great this game is because there is not anymore words. I suggest it to all people of the appropriate age.
