Better than the first thanks to improved combat and easier item collecting.
Story
In the opening Cole faces off against a Red Demon like monster but he doesn't manage to destroy it just stop it from attack New Marais. He is told he will need more power to eliminate the threat of the Demon like monster.
Gameplay
First of all the main changes are this time Cole has like a Blade that can defeat enemies to go along with his electrical powers. The game has the same sort of mission structure though going to places as well as choosing either good or bad side missions. Doing one will either give you good status or bad status and some of the main missions have you making a choice.
The collecting of items is still the same Dead Drops and Blast Shards. The Dead Drops now though have bird like symbols and the Blast Shard is represented by a Blue dot when you are searching for electrical stations to power up.
There seems to be more enemies in this game than the last as well which is good because the first seemed to lack enemies you get beasts as well as the Militia and Ice Soldiers and some massive Brutes. Also along the way you will see bomb like symbols and gun like symbols and medic symbols these are people that need you help which doesn't slow the pace down at it only takes a few seconds.
As in the first you will get better powers as you complete side missions and do certain types of hits help unlock certain powers which will help you eliminate the enemies without a sweat. A new feature is user created content which is like LittleBigPlanet creation mode but it does seem to lack that customization as well as most of the missions aren't really that good and some don't require you to do anything.
Presentation
The whole of this game looks fantastic a much improved character models and the city is also very presented and the voice acting is also very good as well.
Lastability
About 20 hours for the main Hero or Villain campaign but then there's the side missions,collectables as well as doing the other campaign and also getting every power in the game. So in total you could playing for be up to 50 hours or more.
Overall Opinion
InFamous 2 is a fantastic game with a great story,good pacing and better combat and easier item collecting. There's lots of collecting to do. Whilist the user generated content lack LittleBigPlanets creation the game overall does have some fun user generated missions. A great game and an improvement over the first.
