inFAMOUS 2 ups the ante and brings new enemies, new allies, and more important choices for Cole MacGrath to make.

inFAMOUS 2 takes place right after the events of the first game. Cole defeated Kessler, and is now preparing for the arrival of "The Beast", which was the main reason that Kessler traveled back in time in order to mold Cole into a hero so that he was ready to combat this threat. Cole first does battle with him in Empire City and unfortunately loses the fight, along with many of his powers. Cole and his friends manage to escape, but Empire City is completely eradicated.

This brings us to the main point of the story. It's time to get Cole strong enough to fight the Beast. Cole, his best friend Zeke, and new character special agent Lucy Kuo travel to a city called New Marais. You meet a doctor named Sebastian Wolfe on a rooftop and he reveals an interesting device to Cole known as the Ray Field Inhibitor, or RFI, for short. Cole thinks at first it is another Ray Sphere, which is what gave him his conduit powers. But, in reality, it is actually a device that takes powers given by the Ray Sphere away from conduits. Cole is also taught how to use blast cores by Wolfe, which if an electrical current passes through it, the energy is released into the nearest conduit. This is how Cole gets his powers back. There are some powers we know of, but there are some new and original ones that are loads of fun to try out.

Everything pretty much from the first game is in this one. The controls are about the same, except that melee combat is different. Instead of using your fists, Cole has what is called the Amp. The main problem with this is that the camera can go every which way when finishing off an enemy. Also, when you're about to die, the screen goes to black and white like the first game, but the color is so disorienting you may not be able to tell the difference between solid ground or water (which is basically kryptonite to Cole). The morality principles are also in place to make you a hero or an enemy to the city of New Marais, it also influences what powers you can unlock. At the end of the game, you of course have to combat the Beast. Here's where the problems begin. The Beast is a giant, and unlike Kessler, isn't agile or fast at all. His attacks are obnoxiously slow and his entire body acts as a hit box, meaning whatever kind of electric attack you use, no matter where it hits him, will always do some form of damage. This makes the fight pathetically easy and to be honest, kind of a joke. It would have been much better off and way more challenging if only his head was where you had to hit him. It wouldn't have hurt to make him quicker.

Overall, it's a really great game. It's not quite as good as the original game, but the gorgeous cutscenes, good music, and great gameplay are worth it to be a part of your PS3 library.
