When I first bought this game, I thought 'Well maybe this won't be a good game.' Either way, I was planning on giving it a chance. Simply because I enjoyed the look of it, and the description I read of "A dungeon crawl for the Gears Age." Being that I am a huge fan of the Gears franchise, I'm not one for dungeon crawl games. This being true, I can look to my selection of games and I see Oblivion, game of the year edition. Never beat it. Played it and I just could not get into it. Perhaps it's the fact I spent so much time on the original XBOX playing Morrowind, or perhaps I am outgrowing that type of game. So this is what I thought until I popped in Hunted and then realized I just needed a new push.

I at first was not impressed by the graphics. With reason but going into this game I knew that the team who created it were not huge. Sometimes this is what gaming needs. It need's some newer types and smaller known companies to come in and make something fun. Personally I enjoy helping out these companies. Yet only when the game is actually well thought and just fun. So I played a few hours of Single Player and it was just...it was amazing. From the hidden sections of the maps to the fact it had such a good story to go off of. This game felt like one of those hidden gem's not most would play because it did not have a well known name in front of it.

Now, usually I am the brute in these sort's of games but what interested me most was how they involved the cover-system most known in Gears. So I picked up playing as E'lara. Using the bow. Using that bow..is just awesome. I do not even have to take cover to kick some mega butt with it. Every few shots was just a nice hit to the head and boom, a good head explosion would animate. Then I had a friend jump in the game with me, we spent a few days playing through the story and we got so into it that anyone else involved in the party just became a faint noise in the background of Hunted.

It has been month's since a game has gripped me like this and been able to wash out the noise in the background. Also it has a nice vibe to it and plain fun. Weapon hunting is fun, albeit not as huge as Borderlands searching but it does have a nice selection so far. There is a lot to the game in general to keep one coming back. From playing what is known as Adventure Plus with a larger selection of even greater weapons to playing the created maps done by InXile or fan-created maps. Either way. I am looking forward to popping this back into my Xbox again and again and see no reason to get rid of it.

If you're a fan of Gears or even just looking for a new invention in the fantasy section of gaming. This game is that direction.
