Hexen is a pretty cool game. The graphics and sound give you a constant sense of danger. The gameplay is a good balance of hand-to-hand and mystic combat. The monsters? Man, those guys are crazy! You've got the 2-headed monsters, the falcons on fire, the black dragons, they're just cool. The mage's freezing power is amazing, although his primary weapon sucks ass. One of my favorite lines in video games are said in this game, and that line is: "GREETINGS, MORTAL" "ARE YOU READY TO DIE?"

The character individuality in this game is incredible, especially with the way they all have different ways of using those poisonous things. They have some imaginative weapons in this game. The environments are incredible and instantly give you the gist of hardcore fantasy violence. It's challenging too, which is good since I like a good challenge. I like how they let you hide behind windows to make the monsters stop chasing you. It doesn't make any sense since you have to break the windows first, but who cares? It's a lifesaver! Collecting plenty of quartz flasks is also a good way of getting your health up. The controls are incredibly easy to understand. A lot of people may be saying that this game sucks ass, but I appreciate the imagination and ORIGINALITY of this game.
