This game is not exactly "new", however it does DRASTICALLY improve every aspect of every other MMO to date. Guild Wars 2 is not the second coming, or the one true ring, but honestly I have had more fun playing this game the past week than I have in any MMO since EQ1. I realized it was a blast when I checked to see if I could finally wear some level 21 armor that I had stashed and suddenly realized that i was level 26... This is the first MMO however where I have actually enjoyed playing the PVE portion of the game, because its very spontaneous and social. For instance a world boss will spawn after several events and it will start with 3-4 players trying to kill the thing, this will lead quite suddenly to 40+ players trying to pound the same boss! This becomes epic really quickly. The game is an absolute blast and I have only a few small complaints, first the Auction House has been down for an entire week. Second, the main draw for me is World V. World and right now the queue on my server for WvW is around 3-5 hours depending on what time of day you first log in. This is unacceptable and will hopefully even out over time.
If you are looking for something that completely rewrites the MMO genre, this is not it. But if you are looking for a VAST improvement of the best aspects of a lot of MMO's this game is DEFINITELY worth the money! Also, NO MONTHLY SUB!!!
