Action still holds up after all this time. Great collection (but leaves out Life Force).

User Rating: 7 | Gradius Portable PSP
Gradius and Life Force were two of my favorite NES games when I was a kid, so this collection proved to be a perfect game to kill time on subways or sitting in airports. The action holds up remarkably well after all these years with plenty of near-misses and punishing waves of bullets and aliens to blast through, over and over, to the point of getting arthritis in your hands. It's disappointing Life Force wasn't included here, but you still get five variants of Gradius here.

You'll also enjoy the rapid-fire button options for gunfire/missles -- something I used to need to borrow my friend's Advantage joystick to make use of on the NES. Other editable options include adding extra lives (up to 9) and variable difficulty settings.

The only real knock against this PSP collection is that you have to play it on your PSP. The handheld's wide design wears your hands out, and an intense game like anything in this collection will quickly make your fingers and knuckles sore.
