With an epic feel and non-stop action, God of War will not disappoint.

User Rating: 10 | God of War (Greatest Hits) PS2
God of War not only pulls off the difficult task of having a unique combat system in a sea of uninspired action titles, it also raises the bar for action in games so far, it may never be reached. The battles are intense, even when the enemies are of the easier variety. Speaking of variety, the game gives you a bevy of options on how to dismember and dispatch your foes. The boss battles, and even some of the normal fights against the bigger enemies, are simply epic. You will never feel like more of a badass playing a game then when you play this one. Kratos, as a character, is an unbelievable jerk, but one that you somehow root for. The game's story is highly interesting as well. A rarity in action titles (see a pattern here?). The game feels short, mostly because it keeps you wanting more. Upon finishing the game, however, the developers have seen it fit to give you a host of extra features, including the option to play through the game (hopefully at a higher difficulty) again in a different costume. Nothing is quite like seeing The Ghost of Sparta in a cow costume, wielding some Chaos Milk-jugs. The best extra feature would be the unequivocally infuriating but ultimately satisfying Challenge of the Gods mode, where you fight off level after level of enemies in an attempt to reach the next platform with no save feature. There is no reason you should not get this game.
