i will play this game till my fingers bleed! (and i'm still in level three)

when i got this i really did not know what to expect. i actually chose it because of the cute cover art :P i figured it would be another dance revolution-type spin-off, wherein you mash buttons like some stupid simon says game.

for me, this game is the best of its genre (i don't exactly know what genre that is, but whatever it is, gitaroo man is the gold standard.)

first the music: it's really really good. each song suits the theme of each level, and the music doesn't pigeonhole itself into one style only.

then there's the gameplay: it was truly fun to see that each level is played in battle mode. rather than just trying to hit the right buttons in time with the music (like that BEATS game), you have a life bar that you have to protect, so you must block the enemies attacks while trying to kill him with your smooth gitaroo skills.

but even if i'm singing praises for this game, i have to admit, even in easy mode, this game is hard. or maybe i just have sucky hand-eye coordination.
