Could this be the greatest XBOX 360 game this year?
This game has got as much hype as Halo 2 literaly. But we all know Halo 2 didn't live up to the amount of hype it was given. Does this game? A simple answer is YES. This is one of the greatest if not the greatest XBOX 360 game on the market. This game has it all and its all solid. This is a must have game for an 360 owner. I was kind of reluctant to buy the game, it looked similar to kill.switch (which was fun for about 2 hours), but since Nov 7 is my birthday I decided to get it, and man was I wrong, this game might look like kill.switch from the videos but actually playing it is a whole another story.
GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay is amazing. The controlls are solid. Running around the battlefield shooting down enemies and chainsawing their heads of is the most satisfaction I've had since Super Mario Bros. (the original). The gameplay is solid. It does take a little time getting used to (about an hour) but once you master the controlls its feel like your in a movie. The enemy AI on "Casual" difficulty is pretty dumb, but on other difficulites its amazing, they won't just run around, they'll actually use the cover to their advantage. The weapons are great as well. This game has online play (but its 4v4 max), I have had a chance to play online for about three hours and I'm satisfied with it although I would have liked 16 players max. The online is very solid, and nicely done. This game has SOLID gameplay.
GRAPHICS:
This is where the game shines, the graphics department. The graphics are simply amazing. Although they don't look like the target renders we first saw, they are very close, and if you haven't seen the earier shots of the game you shouldn't really bother, the only major difference is the lighting has been changed, and a little bit of detail gone, but that dosen't stop the game from looking amazing. The game looks outstanding, weather its the character models, the enemy models, the enviorment this game has it all. Amazing graphics.
SOUNDS:
This game has a great sounds section. The voice-acting is great, its not amazing, but it gets the job done. The soundtrack is just brilliant, really fits the mood of the game. The weapon sound effect are great. Overall the sounds of the game are great.
VALUE:
The game has a very short campaign, you'll beat it in around 9 hours. Although there are three difficulties, so if you do everything there is 27 hours of off-line play. Although the single-player is great the game shines online. The online is perfect, if you have XBL you'll be playing this game until Gears of War II comes out. Also the achievements will take a long time to complete. Overall this is the must-have game this holiday season on the Xbox 360.
CLOSING:
At first I though this game was going to be just another mediocre game, until I saw the previews, then I decided to buy and see whats so special about it. Was I in for a surprise, this game is oustounding (sp, and I'm running out of words to describe this game). Overall must have game. GO OUT AND BUY IT.
