Original Arcade Gaunlet when it was first introduced in 1985 was revolutionary. It was unlike any game that I've ever played. It was the first action role-playing like experience in the arcades. The graphics at the time was superior as well. So how does this game fare in the new millenium? Having the chance to re-visit this game, I'd say that it transcends time. The gameplay is truly addictive and without a doubt the best. The game's purpose was like a puzzle except that it's not frustrating like a puzzle. The concept was simple, get to the exit. But the great gameplay detracted from the goal that you have to get to the exit. This game was so much fun shooting ghost, grunts, and lobbers and don't forget their generators. The elements in the game was tight, timed, and concise. You could be wizard and know that when you use the potion everything on the board zaps to smithereens.
