    How to bring up the console

    Many cheats here require the ''Console'' to be brought up, but none says how to get the console up. From start, you can not bring the console up. Here is how to do it.

    First of all, rightclick on your Soldier of Fortune shortcut icon on the desktop if you have one, otherwise use explorer to find your SoF folder in Start menu.
    Click on the Shortcut tab if not already up.
    It will show (an example):
    Type: Program
    Place: SoF
    Name: C:GamesSoFSof.exe
    Now this is what you have to do.
    Click on the Name: window and after C:GamesSoFSof.exe, type:
    +set console 1
    It should read:
    C:GamesSoFSoF.exe +set console 1

    And then try to start the game and see if you can bring up the Console by pressing ~ (tilde).

    If it does not work, you might need to do yet another thing to
    make this work.
    (In my example I will use the C key for bringing up the Console.)

    Open file explorer and go to your SoF directory.

    Now go in to the ''user'' folder. Open ''config.cfg'' with for example Notepad.

    In this file you will see all your keys bindings, such as R for ''Reload'' and so on.

    place the cursor after the line:
    bind B ''wave 2''
    and type:
    bind C ''toggleconsole''

    save the file.
    This should make your C key to bring up the console in-game.

    NOTE: There is also a folder called ''configs'', you may need to open the file in there and do the same change to it as above.

    Now when you have got your Console to work, feel free to run around in God-mode with all weapons and kill everything without ever having to worry about dying.. Have fun...

    phantom - Go through walls

    bigelbow - Get all weapons

    defaultweapons - Get default weapons

    elbow - Get Weapons 1-5

    matrix [1-10] - Slow motion mode

    gimme [Item] - Spawn item

    Map # - Go to map # (use a map name below for #)

  2. Hold Silver Talon in left hand

    When you need to reload your Silver Talon, lean to the left before reloading. Now reload and the Silver Talon will be held and fired in your left hand, instead of the default which is your right hand. You can put it back into your right hand by doing the above, but leaning to the right instead of the left.

  3. Max Payne mode

    Locate and open up config.cfg

    Locate the line with: bind MOUSE2
    Change whatever there stands in: bind MOUSE2 ''matrix .2''
    Locate the line with: bind Q
    Change whatever there stands in: bind Q ''matrix 1''

    Now, when playing the game, the right mouse button activates the ''Bullet Time'' while the Q key ends it.
    You can of course choose different keys to bind to, but it's more Max Payney like this :)

  4. Useful Cheat Codes

    Add ''+set console 1'' to the desktop shortcut to SoF. The press the Tilde (~) key to open up the console. Now you can type in cheats.

    Effect Effect
    elbow Gives knife, Black Panther pistol, Silver Talon pistol, B-42 shotgun, SMG and 5.56 sniper rifle
    bigelbow Gives knife, Bulldog SMG, M75, Slugthrower, Flamegun, Rocket Launcher and MPG
    heretic Invincibility (God mode)
    phantom No Clipping (walk through walls)
    ninja No Target (invisibility)
    timescale 1 Normal time
    matrix <decimal numer or 1> Same as "timescale"
    timescale <decimal number> Slows down time
    gimme m_nyc_politician spawns a 'Politician'
    gimme m_nyc_mskinhead spawns a 'skinhead' w/ shotgun.
    gimme m_nyc_ebum spawns a bum.
    gimme m_nyc_mpunk spawns a mohawk w/ shotgun.
    Map (*) where (*) is put a short version of the level you want to go to. (sud for sudan, ger for germany, irq for iraq.)
