What Gamespot Users have to say about Braid

Braid singlehandedly brought indie-games into the mainstream with tough puzzles, bright landscapes, and a sad story.
*SPOILERS BELOW* Much has been made of Braid since its 2008 release to the public. Prior to that it had grabbed IGF's 2006 Award for Excellence in gamedesign and was an Indiecade finalist in 2007. But of course what s... Read Full Review

Games that classify as Art. This is one. Requires reading between the lines.
If you go into this game with no intention of understanding the story, and think you'll be playing a pretty mario-like game, then you will fail, and you will hate this game. This is a puzzle game that has you warp your ... Read Full Review

Brutally hard, pointlessly weird, senselessly mixed up story
No one cares about your little dream girl princess, Tim! If the game designers had spent half as much time focusing story as they did on making it needlessly difficult and downright infuriating it MIGHT rate a five. It... Read Full Review

It's a terrible shame that some people have the audacity to rate this any lower than a 9.
This game is a masterpiece hands down no questions asked. Anyone who rated this lower than a 9 obviously lacks any kind of imagination whatsoever and unless they are blowing something up with next-gen graphics cant begin... Read Full Review

Braid is a clever, brain-straining puzzle game masterpiece. It's like playing Super Mario as Marty McFly.
Braid is a game noteworthy for it's innovation, unique artwork, and unfortunately, transience. You play as Tim, a generic, unexplained character. The controls are pretty straightforward, only you can rewind time with th... Read Full Review

Brilliant concept, somewhat sloppy execution.
Braid is a bit of a two-sided game. On the one hand, its a marvelously clever and original game that takes all the assumptions you have about the traditional platformer (since the days of Super Mario Bros.) and flips the... Read Full Review

In order for a work of art to be pretentious, it has to have zero impact on the world it wishes to affect.
In the case of Braid, indie devs have made the game their golden standard. Everyone from Cactus, creator of Clean Asia, to Adam Atomic, creator of Canabalt, has payed tribute to the game in some way. You see, Braid mar... Read Full Review

This game would be better if it's story was more clear and the puzzles weren't so hard.
After hearing about Braid, an acclaimed puzzle-platformer from 2008, I though I'd give this game a go, through the downloading service on computer called Steam. It started out strong, with some very well thought-out puzz... Read Full Review

Ok game, greatly overrated
Normally my ratings are close to Game-spot when it comes to reviewing games that I am interested in. When I saw Braid, an X-Box 360 live game, rated a 9.5 it was enough for me to go out and get it. The game has an intere... Read Full Review

A 9.5?
A 9.5? Really? Usually gamespot is pretty good with reviews, but in this case before you buy this, look at the user scores. As of right now it's at a 6.8. I was really looking forward to getting a solid puzzle game that ... Read Full Review
